DeMeco Ryans' rookies had a wonderful Sunday without a Houston Texans game.
On Mother's Day, Texans rookie minicampers thanked their moms.
Houston's rookie camp began Friday, giving players time to learn the system and their new coaches.
It may seem insignificant coming up to the season, but Ryans cares.
"The most important thing for me is for those guys to have a just a general understanding of the terminology, offense, and defense terminology," Ryans said.
Learning the offense, it's like learning a new language, so then you have to learn how to speak that language and speak it fluently."
After the three-day event, rookies from around the league will attend the NFLPA's annual Rookie Premiere Event to network and acquire sponsorship traction.
First-round picks C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson Jr., and local receiver Tank Dell will represent the Texans.
Houston's 2023-24 season begins on August 10 against the New England Patriots.
